Urban Warriors, have you heard the news?!
The jobless rate has reached record heights. Unemployment is approaching 10 percent and, despite optimistic talk from economy experts in other areas, the job market is expected to be the last sector to reflect an upturn. So, to the 1 in 10 Urban Warriors out there today actively searching for work, tell us about your journey.
This number, of course, represents only the tip of the iceberg. It only hints at the underemployed, those citizens searching for more or better work and those without work that have lost hope or found new roads to self-sustaining, outside of the job market. Urban Warriors that have sought atlernative routes, give us some of your wisdom.
Urban Warriors, how has rising unemployment and the general state of our economy touched you and/or your art? What tools have you employed to cope? How have you sustained yourself and your art in the face of, for example, an unexpected loss of funding, an extended job search, or a lay-off?
