RE: Remembering the King, Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson has died. We, of course, heard the news in the dusk of Thursday night; in time for quick programming changes before the dawn of primetime. We watched the inital media response and called our loved ones in disbelief.
In fact, the truth of Michael's passing didn't hit me until this morning away from Katie Couric and the paparazzi stationed outside of the hospital. Finally, in the words of Dick Clark and the radio DJ's charged with bringing the sad news to those that missed last night's barrage, I heard it; really heard it. And I cried for all the untimely death, all the craziness and sadness and loneliness, all the glory and bitter that is life.
I don't know what else I'll make of this all but I can say simply for now THANK YOU, Michael. We loved you and we cherished your life.
